Mark signed on with a bar band in 1979. Shortly thereafter, the band got “the call of a lifetime;” they were invited to play the New Faces Show (country music’s biggest industry showcase) at Country Radio Seminar in Nashville, Tennessee.
In what seemed like “overnight,” the band inked a record deal with RCA records and fate and good fortune lead them become one of the biggest, most award-winning, country music super groups the world has ever known.

During his tenure, he appeared in kinship along side the major players to attend Fan Fair, signing autographs by the hundreds, he graced the cover of 15 of the group’s 23 studio albums; he stood alongside the founding members to celebrate mutual successes stacking up 32 No. 1 hits, countless multi-platinum albums and recognition with more than 200 music industry decorations (including 26 Billboard awards, 17 American Music Awards, 16 ACM awards and 9 CMA awards).
An iconic member of the country music sector, Mark’s extraordinary talents earned him a Commendation of Excellence for “long and outstanding contribution to the world of American music” (BMI) and recognition as a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame (2005).
