About Larry Landgraf

Larry Landgraf was born and raised in and around the swamp country of the Guadalupe River Delta on the Texas Gulf Coast. After four years of college, not wanting to spend the rest of his life in an office or classroom, he became a commercial fisherman. That played out in the late ’80s, and he became a general contractor for another twenty-plus years. Due to a death-defying injury on the job, he turned to writing. Trying to save his commercial fishing career, Larry wrote his first book in 1986. The career and book were a failure. He didn’t write again until he published his second book, How to be a Smart SOB Like Me, in 2012. Then he got serious about writing and in 2015 published Into Autumn to launch his Four Seasons series. The release dates for Into Spring and Into Winter are 2017, and 2018 for Into Summer. Larry divorced in 2006 when his wife of 38 years decided to walk out. This marriage produced three kids, all grown now. Larry met Ellen in January 2009 after a long search which spanned the globe. They now live together in the swamp where Larry has lived all his life. Much like Eileen Branson in Into Autumn, Ellen is a city gal, but loves Larry’s swamp. Larry, much like Lars Lindgren in the story, wouldn’t have it any other way. He teaches her the ways of the swamp, and she has plenty to teach Larry, as well.
