Michael Filippello grew up in the Finger Lakes region of western New York. His mother was a talented artist and quilter who always encouraged him to pursue his passions. Michael has been creating his own unique style of American Folk Art for many years. Though he has been published in many newspapers and magazines, his dream has always been to write and illustrate his own story books for kids. Michael lives in the southern United States with his wife of nearly thirty years, Tricia. They have three furry children, a poodle and two calico cats. While Miratambo Moonsong is his first book, he continues to write and paint future releases.
