  • COPYRIGHT: Does the author own the book’s copyright?

    Tuesday 4th Jul 2017

Yes. In fact, you never stop owning your copyright from the moment you write the book through publication and beyond. FIG’s Member’s Packages also include registering with the U.S. Copyright Office. Registration may be to an individual, writing team, organization, or pseudonym (“pen name”). Pseudonym registration may reveal the writer’s true identity, or FIG will document your anonymously owned book. Every author owns his or her work, but FIG offers that extra legal protection.
